Do I need A Hammer Drill or Rotary Hammer Drill?

A Hammer Drill is a lightweight all-rounder that is great for light masonry work, such as Brick, Masonry Block and Mortar Usually up to a 10 to 13mm hole size. It will also usually have and adjustable clutch and speed modes for screws & drilling into Wood, Metal & Plastic materials.

A Rotary Hammer Drill is a heavier drill designed for Drilling into solid concrete and re-enforced concrete (a house slab for example). It will also Drill everything that a Hammer Drill is capable of drilling and can drill holes into masonry with a larger diameter, usually up to 26mm. It also can-do chiselling work and light jack hammering work with the right chisel attachment. A Rotary Hammer Drill is not recommended to put screws in.
